The only thing better than the tantalizing truffles and smooth and creamy caramels is the line of chocolate vodka and liqueurs.
Let me paint the scene (and offer my husband, who reads my blog, a neon-sign-like hint):
It has been a stressful week, full of poop, tantrums and whine – and not the relaxing smooth kind. Your back is a ball of tension and all you want is to escape. At the end of the day, all you want is quiet, and to feel like a girl, not mommy, not referee, not warden. You find a hand written note on your laundry-covered pillow. (How you found it is the real miracle!) It instructs you to go soak in the tub and you hear silence and the car pull away from the drive. Your husband took it upon himself to take the kids to the sitter! The house is yours!
You scoop toys out of the tub (because he took the kids to the sitter but did you really expect him to clean too?) and soak in a sea of lavender bubbles. 20 minutes later you hear a tap on the door. In he walks with a soft, fluffy robe and a long stemmed rose. You put on the robe and follow him to the living room. In between the dirty dishes on the table (cause like I said, he didn’t clean) a few candles are lit. There are two Godiva chocolate cocktails sitting enticingly on either end. In between the cocktails is a beautifully wrapped box of Godiva truffles. (Thank goodness Godiva gift wraps so elegantly!) The mixture of the rich and creamy truffles with the smooth and full vodka eases your worries and relaxes your muscles.
Mom? Mommy? Who? You are in love. Cinderella is now with her prince and the spell doesn’t break until midnight.
I was given the chance to try the Godiva Chocolate Vodka and Godiva Raspberry Chocolate Vodka with some truffles. Amazing. Breathtaking. Loved every minute. Here is my favorite chocolate cocktail that I encourage you to make for your valentine (or hint for him to make for you).
