You’re welcome.
- 1 lbs ground pork
- 1 cup bread crumbs (I used cornbread crumbs)
- 2 eggs
- 1½ teaspoons garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoons salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon white pepper
- 3-4 mozzarella cheese sticks (string cheese)
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Place ground pork, bread crumbs, eggs (beaten), garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper in a medium mixing bowl.
- Work the ingredients together with your hands or a large fork until the mixture is wet and even comes together.
- Chop each cheese stick into half inch pieces (about 7-8 pieces for each cheese stick).
- Scoop out about 3-4 tablespoons of meat mixture and roll loosely into a ball shape.
- Press a piece of mozzarella into the middle, fold the meat mixture around the cheese and roll again into an even ball shape.
- Place completed meatballs at least ½ inch apart on a broiler pan (*see note for alternate cooking methods) and bake for 20-25 minutes or until browned and the cheese is soft.
- Garnish with Italian seasoning and serve with your favorite marinara or alfredo sauce for dipping or alongside your favorite pasta.
- **If you do not have a broiler pan, you can use a 9x13 baking pan.
- **To use a slow cooker, place meatballs in one layer in a slow cooker, cover and cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours.
- **Meatballs can be made ahead and frozen! Prepare the meatballs as instructed in the recipe and place them side-by-side in a gallon zip lock bag (or two). Seal the bag(s) and place meatballs laying flat in the freezer. When ready to cook, you can thaw meatballs overnight in the refrigerator or simply follow recipe instructions and increase cooking time to allow for thawing while in the oven or slow cooker.
