Of all the baby gear products we own, none are less portable than the baby’s bouncy chair or activity gym. Infantino must have been talking to a few moms with the same problem because they sure remedied that problem with their two newest products.
When Lizzie and David were small babies – around 4-6 months – I would take them to the radio station where I worked and let them bounce on the bouncy chair. But how did that bouncy chair get to the station? I put the baby in my sling and hauled this awkward thing up the stairs. I have another activity gym that does fold up, but it is not simple and takes quite a bit of finagling.
It folds up flat and is lightweight enough for you to carry in one hand. All mothers need things you can carry with one hand cause the other is busy with the baby.
It is super easy to fold up too! You just press the button (that is under the chair on the floor), this releases the levers, and then fold it up flat! If you can fold a stroller you can fold this.
David is a bit bigger than most babies his age, so he outgrew the super squishy head support pillow and waist harness. But this bouncer is sturdy enough for him to climb into by himself so he can sit like a big boy! He loves it!
I must add some safety information: David is just shy of 25 lbs, so he really shouldn’t be sitting in it at all – the weight limit is 25 pounds. And you see the waist harness? Please make sure the child is strapped in at all times.
It also comes with a pack that vibrates the chair, plays nature sounds and has 3 songs to choose from. Thankfully, it also has a volume control as some babies don’t need the music to be loud to be soothed by it.
It also comes with a clip on bar that has a giraffe and elephant that hang from it – perfect for young babies learning to grab and swat at toys.
Now I will tell you about the Twist & Fold Activity Gym
The secret to the ease of use is at the top of the gym. There is a dial you twist that releases the 4 legs and then it folds up all nice and compact.
When you unfold it for the first time, be sure to press down on the top center piece until you hear/feel a click. Then the toys will be is easier reach and the baby will have tons of fun!
It comes with all the toys you see and David’s favorite is the mirror. In fact, I have taken it down and let him carry it with him on car rides. It also has a musical toy that plays when you squeeze it, which provides lots of giggles in this house!
I am a participant in a Mom Central campaign for Infantino and have received various Infantino products to as part of my participation.
