Lemi Shine gets rid of hard water stains on dishes. My mother in law informed me of this when I first moved into this house and we dug a well. We had no plans to install a water softener since somebody thought our water was not, “that hard.”
Boy was that person wrong!
My dishes started to get filmy and vinegar or other rinse aids did not work. So when I first found Lemi Shine 2 years ago I became a dedicated customer. My only complaint about them? They don’t sell them in bulk or larger containers! The containers are smaller than my dishwasher detergent container and yet I know I use more Lemi Shine than detergent.
Well, that is what I thought, anyways. You can order 6, 12, and 24 count cases or a 5 gallon pail directly from the manufacturer! And that is exactly what I am going to do since the tiny containers they sell at my grocery store runs out way too fast.
Lemi Shine’s website is very educational about hard water and let me just share a few things I learned. And for the record, this just made me an even more loyal customer when I learned some of this.
Lemi Shine uses all Natural Ingrediants. That is right! All that is in Lemi Shine are natural fruit oils, acids, and no phosphates.
My dishwasher and washing machine can get hard water build up inside of them and Lemi Shine breaks it up.
Sure I could see the cloudiness on my glasses but I didn’t even think of my appliances suffering from the build up too. Turns out if you see white flakes on your glass ware – not just cloudiness but flakes – that is hard water deposit from your machine being left on your dishes. To cure this just pour 1/4 cup of Lemi Shine into the bottom of your dishwasher, turn it on and pause it, letting it soak overnight.
My cloth diapers were starting to not smell as clean I know that is because the inside of my washing machine is getting clogged with mineral build up. I did an overnight soak and I could tell a visible difference on the outside of the basin which reassured me the inside components were cleaned up as well. They sell a product called “Machine Cleaner” that is made specifically to rid your machines of build up after a nice long soak. I used one packet in my washing machine and after looking at the before and after pics I can tell a slight difference, but I should have followed the directions and used 2 packets. I had no idea how much build up I had acrued!
The most noticeable difference was on my glasses and my cooking pot. When I don’t use Lemi Shine I get this embarassing build up so I use it in every load. But when I heard I was getting the chance to review it I let my dishes get all gross looking again, just so you could see how wonderfully it works! Look at these two Before and After pics!
This is not equivalent to the Lemi Shine powder that you use in each wash cycle. This is a rinse agent you pour in your rinse receptacle and it is used on your dishes in the final rinse of the cycle.
It contains purified water, real fruit acids, biodegradable surfactant & natural dye.
These all natural ingredients remove any last spots or film from your dishes. When used with the Lemi Shine powder you can count on crystal clear dishes. They are an unstoppable team!
