Studies have shown that women are much more likely to succeed at their weight loss goals if they do it with friends. That what my entire goal with the twitter and blog #15bytypea challenge. And so far I have been doing so much better than if I had tried to lose the weight alone. I feel like I have more accountability and when I get frustrated I have my friends telling me to keep going.
It turns out I was not the only one gathering my friends around me. While perusing some of my favorite blogs I found some friends that are surrounding themselves with their own circles and working hard to shed those extra pounds.
Lindsay Blogs is on a weight loss journey. She is making a lifestyle change. That button is made from the path she walks every day as she gets more active and it also reminds her that she isn’t just dieting and the weight won’t just fall off she tries the new fat burner supplements. She is changing her bad habits into good ones and the road will take her to a better life. Click that button to join her!

I want to learn how to run. Is it sad that my entire life I have never been able to run an entire mile? I was never in sports, never learned how to be in shape. Is it too late to learn? I have 20 acres I can run on, a quiet country road right by my house, I want to learn!
Vent over.
Then there are the social media sites where you can update your progress and people can cheer you on. Daily Mile, Spark people and My Fitness Pal just to name a few.
I definitely think that having someone to cheer you on helps!
I found tracking my food helps. At the end of the day I realize I eat more than I think. A great free site is fitday.com. It’s all about move more…eat less! I’m in for the 15 By TypeA challenge! I need all the accountability and encouragement I can get.
I have not heard of FitDay, thanks Andrea! I am just like you, if i don’t keep track of my food I don’t realize how much I ate. When I started to track my food, it wasn’t as fun, but I started to actually lose weight.
It does take a lot of the fun out of eating and adds to the guilt. But I still fit in some cheese…
I only walk with company, so I TOTALLY agree!
Agreed! I love this!! I have a friend doing a weight loss challenge for the Relevant Conference as well. It is Eat.Pray.Lose 😉 This first week I walked with a friend. I just cannot walk by myself. Boredom takes over! I am really thankful for you putting this together Annie! 🙂
Your welcome Chele!! I cannot wait to see you at Type A! And I want to go to Relevant with all my heart. I am stalking twitter, hoping to see someone sell their ticket.
I love it! I want to join the Take It Off Tuesday – that sounds awesome! We have Living Well Wednesday which is all about goals – whether it is to lose weight, quit smoking, gain balance… it’s hosted over at nataliecollinson dot com – check it out, she is fantastic!
And WAY TO GO! I love working in groups! So I will cheer along with you! 🙂
I think having an accountability partner and having a deadline helps! Also tracking your calories will definitely help you out!
definitely having others in it with you makes a HUGE difference!! You can do it 🙂
I want to learn to run too! Well, learn to run again. I used to be really athletic, then lot lazier, then was in a car accident and haven’t learned to run again with all the hardware in my legs. I started working out with some really fit, motivated mamas that make me feel LAME (They all have or are working on fitness instructor licenses. Eeek!), but it’s the right crowd to hang out with to try and get back in shape, that’s for sure! I also did Weight Watchers for a couple o months earlier this year (they give extra points for nursing) and that helped a lot. I am 30# down and have a goal of 20# to go by the end of the year (25# to get to my pre-mommy days…) Anyways, good luck and cheering you on!
I agree. I find when starting something I know is going to be hard, like weight loss, gathering a group of people who have like goals around me is always a better plan than trying to do it myself. Good luck with your goals! Maybe we’ll meet at Type-A Con!
