For children age 2-5 years just learning how to ride their bikes, the TykeRider Early Learner Balance Bikes are a valuable (and gorgeous) tool. These bikes are built without pedals, teaching children early on the art of balance and not relying on training wheels to stay upright.
It is said that children can go from a balance bike to a 2 wheeler and skip training wheels entirely. Personally, I have a couple friends with children who did exactly that! I cannot wait to see if Lizzie and David can do the same thing.
This bike weighs only 10.5 pounds and is tested for children up to 125 pounds! My other favorite features? The embroidered faux leather seat and easy-to-adjust seat height. It is a very classy bike.
Earth friendly too! It is constructed with FSC-certified birch and water and weather proof marine-grade ply. I know it is weather proof because I accidentally left it in a small rain shower. I grabbed it as soon as I noticed it was raining – but it still looked untouched!
She is ready to roll!! Lizzie loved her balance bike. We rode it around her Mema and Grandad’s house and it is small enough to fit easily in my car so we will be taking it with us to the park this summer.
When you purchase this bike, there is some assembly required. But you do not have to be a woodworker to assemble it. I was able to put the entire bike together myself. And when a piece did not fit quite right, their customer service is very quick and helpful. They sent me a new part in a very timely manner.
Overall, if you are looking to purchase a balance bike I would suggest TykeRider any day! They are beautiful bikes that will live through many years of hand-me-down use.
You can purchase an Early Rider from their website for $180!
I was given a bike and helmet to review as part of Family Review Network. All opinions are mine.
