It seems like there is a huge returning to the glamour and beauty of the 1950s. I’ve been noticing a lot of movies that are set in that time period. Take “The Help” for example. The book was amazing for the stories it told, but the movie captured my imagination. I loved seeing the hair, the dresses and the homes of the ladies from the south.
That movie was full of beautiful floral A-line dresses and bright-colored pencil skirts.
And now the television show Pan Am is hugely popular. I’ve been taking notes on their make up. I love the eyeliner and bright lip colors. These leading ladies are more likely to wear pencil skirts and jackets (even when off duty) than the dresses that the girls in The Help wore.
And let’s not forget the amazing, beautiful, Adele at the Grammys! Her red lips, bold eyes and lovely lace dress all screamed 50s Glam! She is a classy, polished, woman. I admire her voice as well as her person.
I took all this inspiration and created my own glamorous look. What do you think? I know I’d totally wear this out to town. What a fun night this would be.

OMG! Those shoes are swoon worthy!
So pretty!!!!
So adorable! Love 50s style it’s so glam and still sexy.
I am really in love with 50s style! I wish I could pull off 50s fashion more often 🙂
love those red shoes!
No way could I wear that dress but those shoes are awesome!
I am so tempted to buy a pair of red heels. I don’t have any….is that a good enough excuse to get some?
Love the style, don’t know if it would suit me but love the big hair, the puffy dresses and the red lipstick!!
I love the red shoes and red lipstick too! Again, not for every day, but so fun to dress up like this once in awhile 😉
I adore that style — but my figure doesn’t fit the mold quite yet.
LOVE IT!! Totally makes me want to go buy black liquid eye liner and red lipstick.
I’ve always loved the dresses of the 50’s and 60’s! That outfit you created is super cute!
Yes!! What could be finer than a polka-dot halter dress with red shoes? Nothing.
Well…I would like to have the upper arms and shoulders to wear a halter dress.
I love that red handbag you chose.
I love the 50’s fashions. I love watching shows like Leave it to Beaver (that might be a little more 60’s?), but I think how awesome if we could all look like June Cleaver 🙂 And The Help is one of my favorite books! I finally got to watch the movie and loved it as well. Not as much as the book of course.
