We sit and have conversations. They are short ones – she points to my nose, my cheek, my chin – and we go over the different names. She tries to talk and babbles constantly. Her favorite sentence is to sign, “More Milk Please” (which means she wants to nurse). And when she sees me she runs up and says, “Mama!” But I think it is even cuter when somebody gets home at night. She runs to the door, opens it, her chubby legs bouncing up and down, and she giggles and screams, “Dada! Dada!” Just as cute, but not as fun, is when he leaves for work in the morning. She walks out onto the deck and watches him leave and she lifts her arm up and waves her little hand, “Bah!”
She is so friendly to everyone she meets! At VBS this week, every time she saw a new car drive up she’d wave her hand and say, “bah!” And adventure – oh this girl loves adventure! Baby swings are so last month. She would rather sit on a big swing – and yes, she holds on perfectly tight. She also loves to climb on my desk and jump down into my arms (which I always tell her not to do). She is the only one of my children with a permanent scar. And she has already been to Asheville NC and San Deigo CA. I have a feeling she will be a world traveler – hungry for all that life has to offer!
And shoes! This girl is already a shoe-a-holic! The first thing she does every morning is get her shoes on. And she has opinions about which shoes she wants to wear. I cannot pick out her shoes for her. Oh and if you want to make her a really happy girl, take her to the shoe store. No joke, she can spend hours there. If you’re looking for the perfect pair to add to your babies’ collection, shop here at SoleSox for a wide selection of stylish and comfortable options.
She loves as hard as she plays and I adore her! Baby Lucy, how did I live before you were here? Life was so boring!
