The activities of children have evolved over the decades. Children used to be satisfied with basic toys from toystore ,but now there is a plethora of options at their disposal. Tablets are even available for young children. Electronics are becoming more popular with kids, but there are some favorites that have stuck around even with technological advances.
Blocks And Building Toys
Blocks and building toys have always be a loved toy. Children love to create things with these types of toys because they can feel like an architect or a construction worker. They have the power to create a little city made of blocks, and it stimulates the imagination.
Dolls may have gone from simple soft toys to solid plastic, but they are still a classic toy that has existed for centuries. Dolls are a beloved toy that expands upon creativity and social skills. Girls learn to play with dolls and dress them up. They can communicate with friends through the lives of their dolls. Today, there are hundreds of doll clothes to choose from too.
Car toys and truck toys have been upgraded from being simple and plastic to having motors and advanced features. Boys love to play with cars and trucks and create races with their toys. There are countless race tracks available for these scaled-down vehicles. They also make excellent collectibles that can be worth money if they are properly cared for.
Board games are loved universally. They help children think critically and on an advanced level. They help children solve problems and get better at strategy. Board games are educational and super fun for children and families. Playing with board games is one of the best and oldest pastimes that children can enjoy with each other.
Dress Up
All kids love to play dress up. Channeling their inner superhero or princess is a great way to get creative and simply be a kid. Costumes are cheap, and quality ones can last a long time. They provide hours of entertainment. You can even let your children use older clothes of yours for costuming and dressing up.

My daughter’s favorite classic toys are dress-up clothes and play food. I remember my favorite toy (maybe not a “classic”) was a Sit n’ Spin…anybody remember those?

My niece loves anything princess. When she was younger, I would (and still try to) buy her earth friendly toys especially wood toys. In part, I keep thinking that hopefully she will pass them on to our kids (hopefully that will be soon).

We LOVE earth friendly wood toys too! Of course it helps that my husband is a carpenter LOL but in all seriousness, the durability of wood toys is unbeatable.

I’d say one of my favorite classic toys is the jump rope. I’m a big fan of health & exercise, and children love skipping rope. I’d add this to your list.

My gbabies love it best when I read to them. I get very animated, and they giggle & squeal! My husband says I should have a children’s tv show, lol. He likes it too when I read!
