I love fall! Even more, I love pinning fall food and decor on Pinterest. I sit here and dream and dream of all the scrumptious pumpkin-y treats and lavish meals I will prepare for my family. Then reality sets in – ballet, deadlines, class parties, homework, house cleaning – and my Pinterest dreams take a back seat to real life.
I’ve learned to just cut myself a break and find super easy ways to be creative. I still love Fall. I enjoy baking and giving gifts to people. Are you like me? Too squeezed for time to spend time on desserts and gifts? Then my ideas are perfect for you!

The easiest desserts in the world are chocolate chip cookies. They are so easy to make that David, Lizzie and Lucy all help me and they still turn out amazing. To make these tasty treats, put the dough in a muffin tin, place a Rolo in the middle and layer more dough on top. I baked for 350 degrees for about 11 minutes each (until golden brown around the edges)
Who doesn’t love a beautiful coffee cup filled to the brim with Halloween candy? (If you don’t, then I will gladly accept this gift in your place LOL) The caramel apple pops from Jolly Rancher and Kit Kats stick out so cute from the top. The bottom is packed full of other chocolaty goodies. And I just love how easy this was to put together – just match the colors and you have a beautiful gift.
Then, I tried to do a Halloween craft with candy. This is where I said, “hey – if I let my 6 year old daughter do the craft, then everyone will think it is cute and not think I’m a total loser at crafts!” So I stepped back and allowed Lizzie to use her creativity to create a person out of Halloween candy! First, we drew the picture. Then we sorted our candies and decided which pieces fit her person best.
The next craft was spelling Happy Halloween out of candy! And here is where I admit…that craft was 100% me. All me. Sadly, that is the extent of my “craftiness.” I had way more fun eating that phrase than making it.
What about you? What Halloween crafts and baking items do you make that take virtually no time or thought? Those are what I need!

I do the same thing with crafts!! It does get harder as they get older, though!!
Your pictures are amazing, and I love how simple everything is – even I could do it!
Annie says
Thank you Becca 🙂 I do worry about the day (which will happen very very soon) when their craft talent exceeds mine. They think I am fun now……but in a year? um yeah LOL

So far we’ve made broomsticks with the Rolo candies! I really thought my cookies were so ‘genius’ and original … but I was wrong! 😉 I wish they would have turned out.
