Looking for ways to naturally boost your immune system and help your family ward off the winter crud that gets passed around so easily this time of year? If so, this nutrient packed, irresistibly flavorful juice recipe is a must for you to try! I’ve perfected a sweet, smooth, invigorating green juice that will have your body revitalized in no time!
Benefits of Juicing Fruits & Veggies
Juicing fresh fruits and veggies unlocks incredible nutrients and concentrates them into an irresistible glass of lip licking awesomeness.
Though there are some extreme techniques out there of consuming only water and fresh juice for days or even several weeks in order to detox or lose weight, you don’t have to go to these intense measures to enjoy the health benefits and yummy flavors delivered by juicing. The benefits of juicing include taking in concentrated amounts of nutrients and it tastes so amazing you will actually enjoy eating your veggies.
Juice Contains Concentrated Immune Boosting Vitamins
While most people think primarily of vitamin C when it comes to staying healthy and avoiding the doldrums of the cold and flu season, green leafy vegetables are super concentrated in an array of immune boosting benefits, like vitamin B6 which helps with antibody production. Kale is an especially great source of vitamin A, vitamin C, magnesium, vitamin B6, copper and iron, all of which are beneficial for immune health. Drinking Green Juice is Fun & Delicious
Sometimes, it can be easy to get stuck in an eating rut. Maybe you are tired of eating the same roasted veggies or salads. Juicing is a creative and fun way to drink your fruits and veggies. Some people actually enjoy drinking a nutrient-packed juice on the run more than trying to eat a salad. Makes sense to me!
My Low-Sugar & Low Carb Green Juice Recipe
Unlike many fruit-based juices, this recipe avoids being overly sugary by just using one apple while still maintaining a smooth, sweet taste from the special combination of other flavors. For example, ginger and lime help lift the taste to make it sweet and tangy. Juice Buff has posted 10 delicious must-try juice recipes.
Use Organic Produce
One note, I do especially prefer to use organic produce for juicing to avoid a concentrated amount of trace chemicals and toxins. I figured, if I am going to be juicing the vegetables, I want only the cleanest forms I can find.
Buy A Juicer – So Worth It!
You will need a juicer for this recipe but don’t let that stop you if you don’t have one. If you want a list of the best juicers, check out thenomrecipes.com. They have all the pros and cons right there for you. My favorite juicer of all time is the Aicok slow masticating juicer. It is really easy to use and clean!
You can also consider borrowing from a friend, trying to find a used one from craigslist, or purchasing an affordable model at your local superstore until you decide if investing in a high-quality juicer or quality cold press juicer is the right move for you. Once you try it, you won’t be disappointed!
Immunity Boosting Green Juice Recipe
Here is the recipe! Don’t forget to pin this recipe so you can come back and make it again and again! And definitely share it with your friends, especially if you know someone loves making juice!
- 1 medium bunch of celery (or one package of celery hearts)
- 1 Fuji apple (or other bold, sweet and crispy apple of choice)
- ½ of a lime
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 cup kale
- 1 piece of fresh ginger (about the size of a gum ball)
- Start with fresh, chilled fruits and vegetables.
- Clean and trim the celery.
- Cut, core and slice the apple.
- Rinse the spinach and kale and roughly chop if necessary.
- Cut the ginger to the appropriate size for the recipe and peel if the skin is thick or wilted.
- Process all ingredients in a juicer.
- Use the celery and apple slices to help the leafy greens descend into the juicer if needed.
- If you have a citrus press, you may choose to juice the lime using that and then stir the lime juice into the juice blend, or you can simply peel the lime and send it through the juicer with the rest of the ingredients.
- Stir in a few ice cubes with the finished juice blend and enjoy a revitalizing treat.

Nutrition info?

Hi Erin!
I just updated this post with a nutrition label. I put the entire recipe into Very Well Fit and it analyzed it and created the label. The label shows the TOTAL amounts found in the entire recipe. I didn’t break it down into serving sizes. If the amounts aren’t accurate, I’m not a nutritionist and I’m relying on the calculations from VeryWellFit.
I hope this helps.

Hi! How is this Keto friendly if it is so high in carbs? How many servicing does the entire recipe make?

In what world is this low carb? That just as many carbs and sugars as a soda.
I mean it looks tasty, but it’s definitely not keto friendly.

OK, I’m glad I’m not the only one who was questioning this. I just made my first green smoothie earlier today and holy cow it was horrendous. I mean I’m sure it was the healthiest thing I’ve ever ingested in my life, but it was borderline foul tasting. That’s when I did a search on low carb green juices that actually taste good and found this. Was bummed when I saw the nutrition information, though I’m guessing it tastes great – it’ll just make me tired and overweight again.

Annie & Will, thanks for sharing this. I’ve been looking for ways to increase my greens and cut out sugar, other than from fruit and raw honey. This works perfectly for me. I do use a Vitamix rather than a juicer because I want the benefit of all the food/fiber. This works well in a low carb diet, even if it does contain a full day’s carbs for keto. Though there may be a lot of benefits with keto, I can’t agree with a diet that practically eliminates whole food groups, i.e., all fruit except berries as I understand it, and anything grown below the soil – so, carrots, beets, sweet potatoes are off limits? I don’t get that. I’ll be visiting you again soon. 🙂

My thoughts exactly! BTW, I lost almost 30 pounds (now 135) when I stopped eating if I wasn’t hungry and eliminated processed sugar. Still eat virtually every kind of fruit, even bananas., and bread but not at every meal. Take a good multivitamin, make sure I eat adequate protein and don’t worry about the fat, as long as it’s healthy/natural fat.
