I live in a very fun county in West Virginia. We are still considered the “south” (since we are south of the Mason Dixon line), but are so close to Washington DC that there is just a huge diversity of people living around me. As a transplant from Kansas, I tend to identify more with the “non-West Virginians” here…but deep in my heart is a southern girl that loves fried apples and sweet tea.
I love it here!
Have you heard of the Luck’s line of fruit? Talk about quintessential southern ingredients! Selling more than just fruit, Luck’s has delivered tasty and high quality food since 1947. It was founded in North Carolina, so their southern roots run deep.

I have a very simple recipe below! You should try it! My girls went crazy over these little bite-sized treats!
I LOVE making fun and creative after school snacks for my girls. These little bite-sized fried apple tacos are cinnamon-sugar heaven! They are so incredibly simple to make too. I can start making these little treats as they are getting off the bus and have them ready before they walk in the door!
The secret is the Luck’s Fried Apples with Cinnamon! Warming up these delicious slices of apples is effortless and saves me SO much prep work!
Seriously. And these little tacos are so versatile too! You can add more apple pie spices if you like, or make the tacos larger, or even add ice cream for an a la mode treat!
Don’t like Cinnamon? You can grab some Luck’s Fried Apples and spring brown & white sugar on the tacos for a pure dessert of amazing sweetness.
One thing I did not do yet, is try this with the fried peaches. My husband, Will, really loves peaches. I was thinking of peach tacos for him next! Sprinkle some nutmeg on the peach taco bites and you have a lip-smacking delicacy.
What else can you do with Luck’s fruit? I was even thinking of getting some pre-made pie crust, cutting it into small sizes, and placing them in a muffin tin. Then, filling it with my favorite Luck’s fruit for some mini pies! So cute and soooooo fun!
Bite-Sized Fried Apple Tacos Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 can Luck’s Fried Apples with Cinnamon
- 3 Burrito-style tortillas
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 3 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
Instructions
First, cut small bite-sized tortilla rounds. You can use a round cookie cutter, but I think using the Luck’s can makes them the perfect size!
Heat up the oil in the skillet. While the oil is heating, open the can of fried apples, place them (undrained) in a small saucepan and warm them on low heat.
To make the mini hard taco shells, just place the tortillas you cut out in the skillet and fold them in half. Flip them over after about 5 minutes or so, making sure to keep them open slightly (don’t let them fry shut!).
After the taco shells are fried, put them in the bowl of cinnamon and sugar and coat generously!
Place the sugar-coated shells on a plate and place one apple slice in each shell.
VOILA!!! DONE! Super duper easy and what a fun new treat!
