Will and I love football season! We both attended different colleges that today are rivals – Will went to school in West Virginia and I attended one in Kansas. It’s pretty funny to see us when our teams play each other. Talk about friendly rivalry! There have been a few bets placed (and lost). All in the fun name of sports. While some opt for platforms like ufabet for sports betting, we keep it light-hearted and fun, all in the spirit of sportsmanship.
This year during the College Football Playoffs, we are going to be choosing sides once again. But since neither of our teams made it, we will take our loving rivalry to the kitchen. As we have fun homegating, we are making our own favorite recipe and letting our family pick their favorites.
Will is making his favorite: fried meatloaf sliders. I’ll be dishing up easy garlic knots with homemade honey mustard sauce.
One thing we both agree on – our homegating recipes taste the best with an ice-cold Dr Pepper®! That fizz and flavor is refreshing. Check for the 2-liter football bottles. They are great for having out at your Homegating party.
Easy Grocery Pickup From Walmart
When I discovered my local Walmart offers grocery pickup, I was elated! I just ordered my food online (no crowds, no lines!). Then, I used the app to notify them when I left my house. It uses GPS to alert the staff when I arrive. While I’m checking my emails, they are loading my car with my groceries.
It’s kind of insane how easy this all is. My least favorite thing of grocery shopping was always how crowded it was and how long it took to find the food and pay. With all the crowds and long lines gone, I’m back to being a huge fan of shopping at Walmart.
Will’s Recipe: Fried Meatloaf Sliders
Will makes these for dinner sometimes too. They are incredibly easy and a fun new twist on meatloaf. If you can make homemade hamburgers, you can make these.
Meatloaf Sliders Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet meatloaf seasoning
- 1 egg
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Slider buns
Meatloaf Slider Instructions
To make the sliders follow these easy instructions!
- Mix all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl
- Form into 1 inch balls
- Fry on a griddle set to medium heat
- After you flip them once, flatten with a spatula
- When cooked fully, remove and place on slider buns!
That’s it. So easy!
Now – Annie’s turn!
Easy Garlic Knots with Homemade Honey Mustard Sauce Recipe
I am crazy about my easy garlic knots. You can make a large batch like I did or even make the knots smaller. Turn on some music, crack open a Dr Pepper, and have fun making them!
Also? I hope my recipe wins!

Which is your favorite? I can’t wait to hear what you think. The girls really loved Will’s fried meatloaf sliders! I think overall, his recipe won the most votes!
The College Football Playoffs are such a fun time for our family! I love homegating with them – eating good food and cheering for our teams. It’s such a fun time to give each other a hard time while enjoying just being around each other.
Next time, I’m going to put bacon in my rolls…then I’ll win for sure!
Fun idea to do a cook off. The garlic knots look wonderful. I’d love to try them!
I love garlic knots! Both of these recipes sound so good. I haven’t tried Walmart pickup yet. I need to check and see if my local Walmarts do it.
They both look good but I’m a sucker for meat loaf!!
Dr. Pepper is the favorite of my family! It’s best with grilled food and burgers too! Good easy recipes here! Must try!
Bacon will surely get you the win! We love sports as well but I’m a horrible cook so I could never pull off a cook off, lol. But I do love eating what others make from scratch.
Sounds like real fun. Can imagine how rowdy the whole house is with the cheering. What a happy scene. And for your recipes, I love both of them because they definitely have different flavours and to wash it all down with Dr. Pepper….it’s really good.
I usually prefer Walmart pick up to avoid long queues. Your garlic knots look amazing and the recipe is so simple!
This looks like such a great cheat meal!!!
Both look awesome and I bet they taste awesome, but I have a weakness when I see those sliders.
Thank you for a great share!

Indeed Will’s meatloaf stands out against your garlic knot but I’m sure it is delicious as well. thanks for including the recipe anyway this is a great homemade idea to try on.
Thanks for sharing these recipes! I LOVE the cook off idea! We do those all the time at my house!
