Among my various guides to blogging advice, I thought I’d take a moment again to share with you all why I think blogging is such a worthwhile pastime. As I’ve mentioned before, I – like many others – use WordPress as my blog platform of choice. Newbies can check out this guide to setting up a WordPress blog as a first reference. A basic account with WordPress is free to use and is designed with all blogging skill levels in mind.
Reason 1: Community
First of all, if it weren’t for the community, what would be the point of blogging?! First and foremost, the people who visit my site and read my articles (namely, you guys) are what spur me on to create new content and share the things I’m passionate about. The feeling of sharing, receiving feedback and learning from others is second-to-none and makes me glad to be a part of such a wonderful online conversation.
Reason 2: Self-expression
Think of a blog as a sort of online journal. A blog is the perfect place to share what drives you, in my case, my topics center around my family life experiences and personal interests such as travel, cooking and natural remedies, but of course, the possibilities are endless. Whether it’s a diary to document a personal journey (such as weight-loss or pregnancy) or even a place to show your ever-expanding vintage teacup-and-saucer collection to the world, blogging is the ideal soapbox for any enthusiast to share their experiences and connect with like-minded individuals. So, if you’re passionate about blogging, don’t hesitate to go ahead and incorporate technical writing services into your blog.
Reason 3: Making a difference
The truth is, part of the blogging experience is about sharing in the knowledge that you can help and inspire others. That being said, my advice guides are a way to offer something back to the community that follow me – if one person who reads my recipe makes a delicious meal that they enjoy, or starts up a blog armed with the tips I’ve been able to share from my own experience, the knowledge that I’ve made a little difference to someone out there makes all the work seem worthwhile.
Reason 4: It fits in with my lifestyle
As a busy mom, I find that blogging is an achievable aspiration in between childcare and my personal life. Granted, it takes work; you need to dedicate time to make sure there’s a constant stream of posts happening in order to keep the site active – realistically, the best blogs are uploading new content on a daily basis to attract new fans and keep the old ones interested.
Thankfully, there are tools out there to help you cope with it all. WordPress has a range of useful plugins that you can tap into that will help you with content and scheduling posts ahead of time.
Even if you’re not blogging for a source of income, it can be a very satisfying and pleasurable pastime too. My advice is: give it a try! Once you get hooked on the blogging bug, you’ll wonder why you didn’t start sooner, if you wish start sooner there’s a ready to ship pc that awaits for you!
