You ever have one of those days where you feel crazy? Like you have no control over what happens and you are just going to stand up in the limousine and scream your lungs out?
That was yesterday.
My shower was oh so pleasant. No matter what I tried, Lucy decided she much preferred to stand at the tub with the shower curtain open and wail her fat little heart out. Thank goodness living with college roommates taught me how to shower faster than spooked horse.
Then it was time for the doctor’s appointment. Lizzie has had a fever every night since Thursday night. After repeated grillings from me, the only symptoms she vocalized was a cough and runny nose. We took her in. After I pinned her long, gangly arms and legs down, the doctor was finally able to see into her ears. (She is as ticklish as her daddy, which is pretty bad). Ear infection in both ears.
I decide that since I only had one child with me, I’d get a little grocery shopping done and pick up her prescription at the same time. So instead of going to my trustworthy pharmacy I went to the one attached to our grocery store.
Upon arriving I discovered they were slower than ketchup in a glass bottle. And as inept as said glass bottle too. Despite repeated phone calls to my doctor’s office, they could not locate Lizzie’s prescription. Defeated, I picked up my other two children from the sitter’s and drove across town to my dependable pharmacy. Who had the script waiting.
It was a very exhausting day, but one I am immensely thankful for.
I am overjoyed that I have a physician that diagnosed Lizzie, a pharmacy that had her meds, money to pay for it all and a car that was able to drive all over creation to locate them.
Exhausting? You bet! I’d rather Lizzie was healthy or the meds available at the place I wanted them to be. But we are home safe now and everyone is on their way to dreamland. I am incredibly blessed!
Awww, I hope she is feeling better soon. On the tough days, sometimes the only thing we can do is be thankful for what we have.
Wow! Going to the right pharamacy really makes a big difference.
I’m so glad you decided to take her to the doctor. Guess my advice on Twitter worked. Sorry she has double ear infections though, those are a bear. (I get them myself often.) Give her hugs and love from a reader in NY!
