Not only is there an app for keeping track of family members via GPS, but now there is an app for monitoring medicine intake. And for forgetful people like me, this is a huge help and will help you learn more about proper medication. The Care4Today app can help me remind myself to take my own medicine, and it can allow me to share this information with someone else – like my mom or my husband – and stay accountable.
I worked with The Motherhood to learn about this new app and I was compensated for this post – but all my opinions of the app are 100% my own.
Since this app is brand new, I will tell you – What is the Care4Today App?
The best way to describe it is as a “Mobile Health Manager.” It really does do so much!
With the Care4Today app, you can utilize:
- Refill Reminders
- Medication reminders
- Monitor family member medications
- Track side effects of medications
Do I need a smartphone to use Care4Today?
Nope! While my favorite way to use it is on my iPhone (or my husband’s Android) you can still benefit from Care4Today with text messaging alerts. When you sign up online, you can request refill reminders to be texted to your cell phone, alerts when family members forget a dose, and much more!
What is Care4Family?
If there is a family member that you care for (or stay accountable to) you can set up the Care4Family portion so you receive alerts if the family member misses a refill or forgets a dose of medication.
Story example: Say you have a child in college who (like I was) forgets to take the full dose of their meds. (I seriously stopped my antibiotics as soon as I felt better. Drove my mom crazy – for good reason). Just set up Care4Family so that daughter Dolly puts in the type of medication, sets up reminders on her phone, and she “checks in” every time she takes a dose. Then, you can call her if she stopped taking her meds before it was empty.
Ok Annie, what do you think?
Well, to be completely honest, I am shocked that something as free and simple and all-encompassing took this long to be created! My favorite detail about this app is how easy they make it to set up your medications. You start typing in the name and let it auto fill in the rest.
I do hope that they come out with an update that lets you scan the barcode or take a picture and then it finds the medication. That would be so easy too!
I also appreciate the organization this will bring to my life. I can keep track of refills, dosages, and side effects. I think this is a very helpful application and I am so glad it is available for free!
What do you think of the Care4Today app? Will you be signing up and downloading it?
Annie, you are not alone. I also forget to get my refills until too late sometimes. I just downloaded this app, thank you for the review!
