She is Dorothy Gale, the small and meek

Lizzie is obsessed with The Wizard of Oz lately!  She watches it as much as she is allowed.  Her favorite thing to do these days is to dress up while watching movies and act them out.  It is really adorable to listen to her singing softly along and acting out the different parts.  Then she gets David involved and he plays along! They make such a cute little acting troop!

This is the DeluxeDorothy child costume from  Costume Supercenter.  Browsing the site is easy and I was able to find Lizzie’s favorite costume without any trouble at all. In fact, browsing all the girl’s costumes was so much fun Lizzie took over the keyboard and clicked through all her choices for me.

Lizzie did have trouble making up her mind.  As she browsed the Dorothy costumes she also saw other Wizard of Oz characters she wanted to dress up as – her 2nd favorite was Glenda, the good witch of the north.  She tried to get me to get both Glenda and Dorothy costumes, saying her cousin Mycah can be Dorothy and she can be Glenda! How do you argue with such sound logic?

Lizzie loves her Dorothy costume so much. It even came with a blue bow!  One thing Lizzie does not like about it though – the skirt has very rough and itchy fabric sewn around the waist. It is meant to poof out the dress so it has a fuller appearance, but it also makes Lizzie very uncomfortable.  As you can see in the photo, I put Lizzie in thick tights and this seamed to keep her comfy. A slip will also work.

For now, I have to keep Lizzie off the Costume Supercenter site. Once she starts browsing their selection of Halloween costumes for girls I will start hearing a long list of wants from her. Let’s keep her happy in her Dorothy costume for now.
