I did it! I created a mouthwatering concoction of flavors bursting from crunchy, toasted slices of sourdough bread! One bite into this sandwich and you will want to slow down and enjoy every flavor that is layered in. I simply married my mother-in-law’s sweet & tangy home BBQ sauce recipe to sourdough bread, roast beef and sharp cheddar, added some fresh veggies and voila! A savory sandwich perfect for a summer treat!

The most important part of the recipe is the sauce. It makes the sandwich delectable!
Sweet & Tangy BBQ Sauce
1/2 cup Ketchup
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
1 teaspoon vinegar
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
Sliced Sourdough Bread
Deli Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Deli Sliced Roast Beef
Spread the sweet BBQ sauce on both slices of bread. Layer the ingredients, and most important, toast it! You can either toast it broil – both turned out great in my Black & Decker, but I prefer to put it on “toast.” Toasting/broiling makes the sourdough bread crunchy and really makes the ingredients all melt together in pure deliciousness!
