Safety with children is important. Ok, it’s like detrimental. I’ve heard so many horror stories of kids climbing on furniture only to have it all over on top of them!
But those pieces of furniture are very important for keeping DVDs and things organized, I’ll admit. The best thing you can do if you have wood tv stands is bolt them to the wall. Sure, you can try and tell your children not to climb them. But it only takes one time when you are not looking.
I think the most fabulous TV invention is the ability to bolt them to the wall. No one is “in the way” when they sit on the floor. And if you use a corner tv stand to store your movies in, you have a lot more room in the house!
What do you think? How have you made your entertainment system safe for your children?

We so need to wall mount our TV. Silas isn’t pulling the wires (yet) but he’ll go up and touch it and bang on it even if it’s not on so I constantly have to be vigilant.

The wires is one thing I am slightly worried about with out wall mounted TV. I have not come up with a good solution for that yet. What I might do is put a toy organizer underneath – something they cannot climb – that will also hide the wires.

Have you thought about using one of those cord hiders office stores have? People usually use them on the floor, but I’ve seen some small wrap types of things that keep it organized really well. Just a thought.

First, I love that your kids love Star Wars – especially at their young ages! Second, a wall mounted TV is a must. I can’t even imagine a TV toppling over on a little one. Especially since they’re such monkeys. And it takes up less space (bonus)!
