With my kids home for the summer, I was super excited about a little baking challenge. I agreed to work with Double Duty Divas to promote Dawn. I’ve always loved Dawn, been a dedicated user as long as I can remember. We agreed to bake up some yummy cupcakes then clean up with Dawn!
First, the cupcakes:
These were so easy to make that I let the kids do the baking!
For the cupcakes I used a box mix. (With a 7, 5 and 3 year old in the kitchen, the least amount of steps the better!) Use your favorite box mix.
For the buttercream frosting:
- 2.5 sticks unsalted butter
- 2.5 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla
- 2 Tablespoons heavy cream
- a few squirts of blue food coloring
In a mixer, beat the butter. Add the sugar and salt slowly. Once it is completely mixed, add vanilla and cream and mix at medium speed for 30 seconds, or until fully combined. Add as much blue color as you wish!
Then the clean up!
Yup, we dirtied a few dishes. Blue food coloring and all! Fill up the sink and in they go!
True story: my oldest daughter Lizzie literally ran to the kitchen when I told her I needed help washing the dishes by hand. She loves the suds and getting her hands in the water.
There is no such thing as too much fun washing dishes! The bubbles are the best part!
All clean! And super duper easy with Dawn Ultra! No spots, no sticky mess, and no scrubbing! Lizzie cleaned this all by herself, perfection!
Summer is all about taking it easy, no stress, no worries. So keep this easy buttercream frosting recipe handy and always stock up on Dawn Ultra Dish Soap.
