What Is A Blue Hawaiian Cocktail?
There are two different drinks with very similar names, and my drink is a fun twist on both of them.
A blue Hawaii drink is a combination of a perfect taste of rum like John Paul Jones Rum, pineapple juice, Blue Curaçao, sweet and sour mix, and sometimes vodka.
A blue Hawaiian drink is made with creme of coconut instead of sweet and sour mix.
Mine is different. I used pineapple rum instead of pineapple juice and a combination of coconut cream and coconut water. To make it sparkle and fizz, I added some splash of sprite!
Types Of Alcohol In A Sparkling Blue Hawaiian
There are four different types of alcohol in this amazing drink. You can even tell – this one certainly sneaks up on you! (Please enjoy responsibly)
Here is what I used:
- Ocean Organic Vodka
- Dekuyper Island Punch Pucker
- UV Blue Raspberry
- Malibu Pineapple
If you can’t find Dekuyper Island Punch Pucker, then you can use Blue Curaçao with a splash of pineapple juice instead.
Best Glasses For Summer Cocktails
You’ll need an 8-ounce cocktail glass to serve these drinks. I like these cocktail glasses because they have a heavy base, so they won’t spill as easily.
You can also serve them in some stunning whiskey glasses. They are a perfect size and shape for garnishing your cocktails.
If you don’t already have one, you’ll need to get a cocktail shaker. Get an entire set because they come with a cleaner and all the tools you need – without making the price too expensive.
How To Make It Ahead Of Time
My recipe makes one drink. If you want to make enough for an entire party, you’ll have to do a bit of math.
I suggest making an entire gallon and storing it in something people can serve themselves. This gallon-size glass pitcher is the best one you can buy.
How To Make It A Virgin
This recipe is really heavy on the alcohol, but you can still make a non-alcoholic mocktail with the same flavors.
Mix half pineapple juice with raspberry fruit punch and a splash of coconut cream and Sprite. It’s a delicious, creamy, and fun summertime drink without the alcohol.
