What Is CBN Chocolate Cake?
This homemade chocolate cake is created to help you relax and chill when you need to wind down. You might have heard of CBD. Well, CBN is closely related to it.
According to Colorado Botanicals, this is what CBN is:
Cannabinol (CBN) is one of the many cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. CBN primarily binds with the CB1 cannabinoid receptor of the Endocannabinoid System, a receptor that regulates sleep or assists in calming effects at low doses.
How Much CBN Cake Cake I Eat?
Everyone has a different tolerance level.
If you’re under any type of medication then it’s highly recommended to take CBN or any other hemp-derived cannabinoid under the prescription of a health expert.
I suggest adding just a few drops to the entire batter until you figure out your tolerance level.

Tips
The entire recipe is in the recipe card at the bottom of this post. First, I have some tips that will help you make the best cake that will help you relax and chill.
Make CBN-Infused Butter
You won’t add the CBN to the batter. You’ll add it to the butter, and then add the CBN butter to the cake batter. This way, it’s easier to mix and it tastes better, too.
Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients Separately
This is why you will use multiple mixing bowls. Mix the dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately. Then, add them together slowly. This will give you the best texture!
Check For Donenes
After baking, test the cake’s fluffiness by inserting a toothpick into the center. If the toothpick comes out clean, then your CBN-infused chocolate cake is ready to eat.
Store Homemade Cake Correctly
This is a moist and delicious cake. Store leftovers in an airtight container and keep it at room temperature for up to a day.
If you need to store the cake longer, then freeze it.
CBN Chocolate Cake Recipe
This CBN chocolate cake recipe will help you relax when you need it most. It's made from scratch and easy for beginners.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 and 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- CBN isolate (my recommendation: Colorado Botanicals)
Instructions
- Take a saucepan and melt a cup of unsalted butter into it. Make sure you start with a low heat because high heat may burn the butter. Once the butter is melted properly, measure the desired amount of CBN isolate.
- After adding the desired amount of CBN isolate, stir the mix of CBN and butter continuously. Make sure that the CBN dissolves evenly in the butter.
- Now, leave the mix of CBN and butter on the lower flame for about 45 minutes and stir it occasionally. Make sure that the mix does not boil.
- Then remove the mix from the heat and let it cool. I recommend you strain the mixture with the help of a strainer. This will ensure that all the undissolved particles are filtered out.
- Place a baking pan (around 9x13 inch) in the oven with parchment paper on it. If you don’t have a parchment paper then try to grease it with a butter lightly. Make sure to preheat the oven to around 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Take a mixing bowl and add 1 and 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 and 1/2 cups of sugar, and 3/4 cup of cocoa powder. Mix these ingredients properly. Mark this bowl as bowl 1.
- After mixing them, add 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Mix these ingredients well and slowly.
- Add 2-3 eggs with a cup of milk in another bowl. Mix this. Now, add 1/2 cup of vegetable oil and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract to the mixture properly. Stir and mix these ingredients properly. Mark this as bowl 2.
- Slowly add the mixture of bowl 1 into bowl 2 (strictly follow this order, always remember to add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients). Mix them until become smooth. You can use a whisker or an electric mixer.
- Before adding the CBN-infused butter to the batter, we need to thin the texture of the cake batter. For this, boil a cup of water. Slowly add the boiling water to the batter to avoid the splashing. After thinning the batter, add the CBN-infused butter into the batter. Stir the mixture until it is mixed properly.
- Bake the batter in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes.
- After baking, test the cake's fluffiness by inserting a toothpick into the center. If the toothpick comes out clean, then your CBN-infused chocolate cake is ready to eat.
- Leave the chocolate cake in the pan for 15-20 minutes and then put the cake into the refrigerator if you like it cool.
- Optionally, garnish the cake at the end.
- Starting with the preparation of chocolate ganache, take another saucepan and add 1 cup of heavy cream to it. Heat it on a medium heat. Make sure it just simmers, don’t boil it.
- After heating it, add the 8 oz of semi-sweet chocolate. Wait till it melts properly into the cream. Now start mixing it until it becomes smooth. Make sure the ganache cools until the pourable consistency is reached.
- Now pour the ganache over the cake. Spread it properly. You can take the help of a spatula to spread it. Make sure the ganache cools properly onto the cake. Spread the mix of fresh berries and chopped nuts onto the cake evenly for better texture and taste.
- Your cake is ready to serve! Enjoy your homemade CBN-infused cake for a relaxing and soothful experience.
