Happy Valentine’s Day Week! Today I am sharing a healthy love-themed lunch! When you pack this for yourself (or your children) you will know how loved you and your kids are. Just like Rachel shared about her desire to nourish her body, I am following suit with this fun little lunch treat.
Here are the ingredients and why they are so good for you! Now go and treat yourself to some happy exercising and have a lovely day!
Strawberries: These are an excellent source of fiber and keep your immune system strong with vitamin c. Did you know they are also great for your bones? They contain manganese, which helps promote bone structure.
Greek Yogurt: This is high in protein and has much less carbs than conventional yogurt. It also has probiotics – promoting digestive health.
Tortilla: Since I am gluten free, I prefer wheat-free tortillas, but if you can tolerate gluten go for the whole wheat ones. They are packed with fiber!
Sour Cream & Salsa: Enjoy treating your bones to more calcium 🙂
Lettuce & Cherry Tomatoes: When choosing your lettuce, keep in mind the lighter the color, the more water and less nutritional value. Go for the dark greens – high in iron and other trace minerals. Tomatoes are linked to heart health, they are high in antioxidants and vitamin c.
Enjoy this heart and bone-healthy lunch, you deserve it!
