What is your favorite way to get more protein after a good cardio session? Turns out, eating peanuts after workouts is a great choice!
Protein Power After Workouts
What keeps you from working out? For me, it’s time, location, and energy/motivation. When I make it to my gym, it is a miracle. Seriously. Before work, I’m too tired. After work, I just want to get home to my kids.
But I seriously feel amazing after a good workout!
That is why I started working out at home. I come home from work, spend time with my kids, then while they brush teeth and get ready for bed, I go downstairs and squeeze in a 20 minute workout super quick.
After this workout, I feel amazing! And hungry. Very hungry. Can you relate?
Instead of grabbing a sugary granola bar or something that will cause my blood sugar to spike, then drop, and then make me hungrier still, I need protein.
Every single 1 oz. serving of dry roasted or oil roasted peanuts delivers 7 grams of protein and 6 essential nutrients. So I am refueling my body with protein after burning all those crazy calories.
Oh and I just love filling my body with better for you fats. One of my favorite better for you fats is avocados – guacamole anyone? YES PLEASE!
Peanuts contain heart-healthy “good” fats—more than 80% of their fat is monounsaturated and polyunsaturated.
My hunger cravings are satiated and my body is fed a nutrient-dense snack when I grab a handful of yummy peanuts. You gotta try them! The Planters Sea Salt and Vinegar nuts are crazy tangy and ohmygoodness amazing!
