Right now, I’m eating a lot of veggies every day. I’ve lost weight and feel amazing! And I’m so glad I reviewed these new Rubbermaid Freshworks containers because I really needed them! I needed to keep asparagus fresh in the fridge.
Before these came along, I stored my veggies in plastic bags. Which, as you can guess, meant I would buy veggies and just end up throwing them away. These amazing containers are actually saving me money on my grocery bill!
Rubbermaid sent me three sizes to review. The handy thing about these containers is that this line is sized to accurately fit specific vegetables.
Here are the sizes available:
- Lare Square (11.1 Cups): Perfect for Tomatoes
- Long Rectangle (8.4 Cups): Great for asparagus or zucchini
- Small Rectangle (4.0 Cups): Will keep your green beans fresh.
- Small (2.5 Cups): Ideal for small berries.
- Medium (6.3 Cups): Perfect for strawberries.
- Large (17.3 Cups): Optimal for leafy greens.
I have the large square, long rectangle and small rectangle containers. Honestly, the only container I used as intended was the asparagus one. (I don’t eat very many tomatoes or fresh green beans).
Keep Asparagus Fresh In The Fridge- Rubbermaid FreshWorks Container
This is how I save money by keeping my asparagus fresh in the fridge: I use FreshWorks.
These containers use patented FreshVentTM technology to keep produce fresher up to 80% longer* than traditional produce packaging. The lid is even high tech! The FreshVent™ lid naturally regulates the flow of oxygen and CO2 in and out of the container.
The CrispTrayTM at the bottom elevates produce away from moisture and promotes proper airflow to help reduce spoilage.
And the other things I love about these durable, helpful containers? They are dishwasher safe, and they are made in the USA with global components.
They really are super simple to clean and help me save money and time. Thank you Rubbermaid for creating some of my favorite food storage containers! (Am I a total dweeb for having favorite food storage solutions? Yay adulthood…)
*Based on strawberries in FreshWorks™ containers vs. store packaging. Results may vary depending upon produce and use.
