Have you noticed your gym clothes still smelling a bit off even after washing them? How do you get rid of gym clothes smells?
I received a sample of detergent so I could test it out and see how it works. My opinions are completely my own.
What To Do About Smelly Gym Clothes
I’m trying to get more active. I finally found a pair of comfy tennis shoes, active leggings, and the best sports bra. What I wasn’t expecting was the lingering odor in my gym clothes.
I didn’t happen the first few times. They always came out clean. Deep down they still smelled a tiny bit…off.
Air Out Gym Clothes First
Turns out that when I roll the laundry up in a ball, that allows the bacteria from my sweat to actually breed in the clothes – eww! Women’s Health Magazine spoke to a laundry expert (which I should be one by now, but I’m not). This expert actually suggested to lay your workout clothes flat before washing them.
This lets them air out and the bacteria doesn’t breed and cause more stank.
Soak Clothes In Vinegar
If washing your clothes and laying them out first still leaves your gym clothes with a funky smell then try to soak them in vinegar for about 30 minutes. The mixture should be 1 part white distilled vinegar and 4 parts cold water.
Let your clothes soak for about 30 minutes then wash them like normal.
The Best Laundry Detergent For Smelly Gym Clothes
The best way to get ride of gym clothes smells is to use a detergent that is created to work the first time.
Active Detergent was literally created to completely clean stinky sweat workout clothes. This small bag actually lasts for up to 90 loads! You only need a small scoop and it removes all the stank!
How Active Detergent Works
This isn’t like other detergents. Active Detergent is made with plant-based enzymes that work to target sweat and oil that build up in clothing fibers. This buildup, in turn, leads to a foul smell and odor in your clothes when they heat up while working out.
It’s great for sensitive skin too!
Use Active Detergent To Get Rid of Mildew Smells From Clothes
Not that I have any experience with this…*cough cough*…if you accidentally forget your clothes in the washing machine and they smell funky, rewash the entire load with one scoop of Active Detergent. They will come out smelling fresh and clean!
No More Excuses – Get Active!
Go run, take a walk, find a new hiking trail – just get moving! If you use a detergent that’s made for sweaty stinky gym clothes, you will always have the cleanest clothes to use when you work out.
Buy Active Detergent on Amazon. It really does work. I tried it out and my clothes really did come out with a fresh, clean scent and no stink!
